AAIA Submits PIES 4.2 for ACEC Approval The aftermarket Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES) version 4.2 is an industry standard for the management and exchange of a wide variety of item-level product attribute information. The PIES specification defines the best practice for the management of over 200 fields of information including pricing, packaging, supply chain management, imaging and much more. The PIES XML schema defines the communications format for files of PIES information. PIES version 4.2 has been extended to include attributes required by the Heavy-Duty parts and Paint and Body Equipment segments of the aftermarket industry. PIES is published by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and is managed by the Technology Standards and Solutions Committee of the association.
Internet Parts Ordering (IPO) version 1.2.1 is an XML specification for
the B2B dialog required to conduct Special Order Inquiries and Emergency
Purchase Orders via the Internet. IPO uses Business Object Documents (BOD)
based upon the Open Applications Group Interoperability Standard (OAGIS)
and includes the necessary transport and communication protocols. IPO
version 1.2.1 is designed to operate in a synchronous, Web Services environment.
IPO was published by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association and
is managed by the Technology Standards and Solutions Committee. The
IPO Portal supports complete documentation and an online community
of users and test facilities.
